New Delhi: Soon after the conclusion of the Women’s T20 World Cup, the New Zealand women’s cricket team will tour India for a three-match ODI series.
These matches to be held in Ahmedabad on October 24, 27 and 29 will be part of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship. This tour of New Zealand was proposed last year itself, but it could not happen due to India’s busy schedule.
With championship points at stake, both the teams would not want to leave any stone unturned. New Zealand is currently at sixth place in this championship of 10 women’s teams. They have won only eight of their 18 ODIs.
If we talk about India, being the host of the 2025 World Cup, they have automatically got a place in this mega event. To give a good atmosphere to the women’s team before the World Cup, the BCCI has decided to hold this series at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
